Training

"...but my wooden board is much lighter than your porcelain board!",

"Is that porcelain or ceramic?",

"...and why exactly should I do without break-proof melamine crockery?",

"...and how exactly is the plate made?"

- Every salesperson is familiar with such questions and objections from customers. Many a porcelain retailer can be put in a predicament, but not the retailer who has been trained by Holst Porzellan!

For whom is the training interesting?

There is a great need for specialists in the porcelain trade. Basically, we want to offer you as a retailer the opportunity to provide your staff with the best possible training for the sale of porcelain items.

Why you should be trained in porcelain

Are you a salesperson? Then you probably know that a salesperson is also known as a retail specialist. Retail trade because it is the duty of every salesperson to know every single detail of their goods and to be able to communicate this correctly to the customer in order to match the wide range of products to the customer's desires. Porcelain in particular is more extensive, specialised and affected by a shortage of skilled staff than almost any other specialist area. We want to counteract this with our training and enable you to internalise and apply the specialist knowledge we have acquired over the years. Now, of course, you may be thinking "Oh, fiddlesticks! We've been selling crockery for x years - even without training." Then let us tell you: porcelain is a market whose variables are constantly changing. We make sure that your expertise in porcelain remains "up to date". At this point, we would like to advise you to work on your attitude, because:

"If you stop improving, you stop being good."

Our knowledge = symbiosis of intensive research and more than 90 years of experience

And this is precisely why Holst Porzellan is the ideal training centre. We are in constant correspondence and co-operation with

  • the TÜV
  • SGS
  • the Fraunhofer Institute
  • the University of Koblenz
  • the main customs office in Hanover
  • et al.

Because only with constant technical assistance and laboratory analyses can we ensure that our knowledge of porcelain is always up to date! In addition, we have been actively involved in the porcelain business for over 90 years and have been following the further development of the porcelain industry worldwide since 1982. The knowledge we impart to you is not just the way a factory produces porcelain, but the summary of more than 90 years of practice in the porcelain industry. We teach you how to:

  1. Distinguishing between porcelain and ceramic
  2. Recognising the visible differences
  3. Understanding the invisible differences
  4. Be able to communicate the advantages and disadvantages of ceramic types
