A world metropolis of porcelain

If you ask Western People about the cradle of Porcelain many people think of Meissen. But this is not correct! The name "porcelain" derives from the white shell "Porcella" that Marco Polo gave to this material of "the White Gold" when he first introduced it to the European Crowns from China. The "real name" is Chinaware and is based on a historical origin that goes back to the 10th century BC.

Many people associate "Made in China" with cheap goods, some of which are allegedly even produced under conditions that are unworthy of human beings. Either - this is not correct!

Porcelain is a high cultural asset in China and in some regions an important economic factor. People who produce porcelain in China do so with pride and great passion. Many factories have succeeded in combining traditional, ancient manufacturing methods with modern technology and demands. One of these porcelain metropolises is the City of Chaozhou in the heart of the southern province of Guangdong. Chaozhou combines modernity with the originally raw material-oriented settlement of this traditional branch of industry. Chaozhou has achieved what Meissen (DE), Selb (DE), Limoge (F), Civita Castellana (I), the Roca (ES) or Staffordshire (GB) have not: the further development of a valuable and sustainable artisanal product!

With this video, we cordially invite you to get to know this porcelain metropolis a little better and to understand that porcelain from China comes from the Country of the real Origin of the White Gold.
