Production processes

In 1968 the first issue of the specialist reading "Why? Why? Warum? 100 Fragen über Porzellan" by Hans Friedl under the patronage of Keramika GmbH Selb, a society of the Association of the Ceramic Industry e.V. (VKI). This work was regarded in the industry as the short version of the porcelain bible and was virtually omnipotent. In the first edition it was written "...the drying of porcelain is best done with a soft cloth... do not stack too high when putting it away... ...and plates are best placed with a layer of tissue paper in between..." If we were to make this recommendation today for our commercial porcelain, we would go bankrupt immediately. A lot has changed since then, and we are trying to give you an impression of porcelain production in our little product information.

As an introduction to porcelain production, we use a sectional drawing of a porcelain factory from the book by Hans Friedl, "100 Questions about Porcelain", which impressively describes the different stages of production.

Porcelain is a material that is shaped in a variety of manufacturing methods. Here you can see an overview of the different manufacturing methods.

But first a wisdom, which according to the records is about as old as porcelain and also comes from the land of porcelain: "The more you learn, the more you understand. The more you understand, the more you know.

In times of Internet and Google the simplicity is confirmed all the more "...You don't have to know everything as long as you know who knows it or where it is...". Under this slogan we are pleased, if many humans and interested ones, hosts, Geniesser and friends of the table culture this goods customer as small reference book use and contents of it in their own vocational world to use can. Keep us in good memory and recommend us to others.

With this documentation, we strive to achieve a better understanding of certain issues related to the handling and use of porcelain. In no way do we claim to be complete or perfect, rather we try to convey some details about porcelain to our customers and interested parties in an understandable way. Our company has been dealing with porcelain since 1928 and has actively witnessed the development from once handcrafted individual pieces to industrial mass production. There is hardly a circumstance connected with porcelain that we do not know. So if we cannot answer your questions here and now with this knowledge of goods, please let us know. We will then try to answer them immediately.

For those who want to know more, we can recommend the book "Warum? Weshalb? Wieso?" by Hans Friedl, which conveys a very high level of product knowledge. The book can be obtained from the publisher: Keramika GmbH, Selb.
