In contrast to the beverage saucers, there is very much something technical to the soup saucers. Namely the rule that the handle of the soup cup should never protrude over the edge of the soup saucer. Therefore, the diameter of the soup cup should always correspond to the diameter of the saucer. That is why we at Holst Porzellan always indicate the unit of measurement "S" in our articles, which determines the rinsing measure. For the conference and banquet business it is also important that the saucer and the upper cup form a suitable "mis en place", i.e. the saucer with its footprint has a secure hold on the soup upper cup. This is the only way to prepare appropriate soup cup towers for the rush of guests.
