Form Active Coral

Design and character of the Coral line

We have dedicated the sixth development of our recactive glaze on genuine feldspar porcelain to the element of water. The Spanish name "Coral" describes the blue seascape and the fauna that live together in a harmonious naturalness. Like the coral itself, the play of colors of the reactive glaze changes from a strong turquoise blue to a greenish blue, depending of light. The matt glaze, which is speckled with hundreds of small, black reactive inclusions gives this melody of colors its unique character. This blue-turquoise play of sea colors is framed by a hand-painted, subtle brown brush band that bridges to Holst Porcelain's other reactive dinnerware, creating the element of "Mix & Match." Thus, Coral stands for the elements of water, taste and sustainability and equally for a modern lifestyle.

Reactive porcelain nature-related colors, such as the deep sea blue of the Coral series, unite the enjoyment of various food components without singling out any of them. Therein based the culinary secrets of the reactive glazes. Bright seafood, orange crabs, shrimps and even bright red tomatoes appear quieter, more discreet and appear to be bathed in naturalness on Coral. Yet the rich blue is not exclusive to seafood, but rather connects all types of food to the nature-inspired feeling of water, nature, sustainability and health. This is the perfect platform to connect visual perception with culinary delights, stimulating two crucial senses.

The unique feature of Holst Porcelain's reactive glazes real porcelain is the variety of combinations among them. Thus Coral, Musgo, Carbon, Arena, Granito, Moreno and Tierra can be put together as "Mix & Match Porcelain" to create exciting and always new, homogeneous serving combinations.
