Frits

In porcelain production, the finished product of the glaze is known as "frits". The individual components of the glaze are melted down together before the actual porcelain production, quenched and then ground again. The frit is then set, depending on whether the firing is to take place using the oxidation process or the reduction process. If coloured glazes are required or other forms of reaction kinetics - e.g. reactive glazes - unreacted or partially reacted mixtures of frits are prefabricated, depending on the case.
