Colour tolerances

Different body colours of the porcelain

Different body colours are basically not production-related defects, but rather the result of different production batches of a product. Porcelain is produced from raw materials containing minerals, which may show slight colour deviations after firing despite careful composition. This circumstance occurs with all porcelain manufacturers.

Particularly in the case of private labels and import companies, it is often the case that a series or porcelain line has several colours and a different brilliance. These are usually companies that buy their goods from a variety of places and suggest a coherent line to the consumer.

In fact, such occurrences may in fact involve a wide variety of qualities with very different quality characteristics. In most cases, the colours also change depending on the date of purchase, as such companies do not maintain constant production batches (among others, also lot dealers). So if you value quality and repeat purchases, you should pay particular attention to colour differences in the collections of the suppliers.
