Heinz H. Engler (*1928; †1986 in Biberach an der Riss) was a German designer and professor of ceramic product design and industrial design.

Engler designed the first system tableware in the catering industry, the "System B1100", manufactured by the porcelain factory Gebr. Bauscher in Weiden in the Upper Palatinate. B 1100 combines conventional properties such as increased break resistance and edge impact resistance with a clear, appealing design. Since 1960 until today, it has been the best-selling hotel porcelain on the world market. The obvious benefits - namely space-saving stackability, robust design and compact shapes - ensured that this series is used worldwide in hotels, restaurants, dining cars, canteens, hospitals and also on passenger ships.

The design and the basic idea of high functionality have had a valuable influence on the development of our "System Porcelain" series. It was thanks to Engler's basic idea that we now have a collection of functional porcelain modules for modern food distribution systems.
