Labelling

Labelling of porcelain

Mandatory labelling

The legislator specifically prescribes the important labelling requirements for use with foodstuffs. In addition to the information on the manufacturer, we use the following pictograms for manufacturers and distributors.

  • Food suitability
  • Dishwasher safe
  • Microwave suitability
  • Oven suitability
  • and many more

Voluntary labelling

Special properties of a product like

  • Edge Impact Resistance
  • Cutting resistance
  • Thermal Shock Resistance
  • High price-performance ratio

we like to put manufacturers and marketers in the foreground in order to distinguish ourselves from inferior goods.

The value of these markings

However, the durability and value of these guaranteed properties must be evaluated very differently. The addition "intended use" plays a major role and offers plenty of scope for interpretation. We at Holst Porzellan make every effort to explain these nebulous definitions clearly and comprehensibly to our customers and end users and, where necessary, to back them up with concrete data and facts.

Under the cost pressure of a very comparable market, so much is currently being embellished, concealed and cheated that it is almost crying out for clarification and clarification! A low (1,240 °C) fired plate can be labelled with all the above pictograms. Nevertheless it is not suitable for professional, commercial use.
