If the porcelain body and decoration come from the same factory that produces the decorative porcelain to order, the slide decoration can be carried out without an intermediate step. If there is a distance between the porcelain factory and the decoration factory, the white porcelain must also be rinsed free of grease before the slip decoration.
The decors are now available as "paper scraps" and the sliding picture work can begin. The decal is moistened either directly or with a sponge and applied to the porcelain as crease-free as possible. This explains why it is very difficult to apply decors to bulbous porcelain bodies or porcelain in relief. Sliding decors are always handmade!
