Decoration processing - an important preliminary stage of porcelain refinement

A glance at the obogenous cup park "Espresso and Mocha" makes it clear that each piece of porcelain has virtually its own individual body shape. Conical bodies tapering upwards or downwards, straight, narrow high bodies and flat low forms. The decoration, or rather its design, is one-dimensional and always straight. The conversion of this one-dimensional template to the respective body shape of the porcelain article is called decor development. In order to visually ensure the uniformity of the decor, the decor template must be "bent in" or "bent out".

This is the only way to ensure that the decorative image does not appear "distorted" on the porcelain body in the end. In the past, specially trained graphic artists were entrusted with these "decor transpositions", who worked for hours on end to transpose the decoration by hand. Today, there are computer programs that convert this performance by scanner and are ready in a few minutes.

At the end of this work, a printing template is created, which is then converted into a ceramic lithograph.
