Accuracy class

The accuracy class classification of the Association of the Ceramic Industry

1st. Etched edges and cobalt decorations, gold relief decorations and fine hand painting are decorated on tableware of the best grading (I/II choice). A 1st choice alone is not graded, as a very high grading surcharge would have to be charged for this. - In the case of ivory and other coloured porcelain, the colour differences are kept to a minimum.

2nd. The assortment for high-quality gold ribbon, gold ribbon with overprint and similar decorations may contain pieces with minor imperfections - small dots, inconspicuous irregularities and slight sanding marks. - Ivory and other coloured porcelain have small differences in colour.

3th. Edge decorations, plain and coloured, also with gold rim, as well as simple gold band decorations are decorated on mixed assortment (I./IV. choice), dishes with small faults (slightly warped plates, small dots, grinding marks) are sorted. - Ivory and other coloured porcelain have small differences in colour.

4th. Branch decorations and scattered flowers are the normal decorations for crockery of so-called IV. choice. In this sorting, there are more eye-catching faults; these are partly concealed by the decoration. - Colour differences are unavoidable with ivory and other coloured porcelain.

5th. So-called stacked crockery - such as individual cups, plates, drinking cups and the like that are not offered as part of a series - is also offered in "oven sorting" in various cases; the goods come onto the market unsorted, i.e. regular goods including faulty goods.

6th. Undecorated porcelain is generally supplied in the customary grading I/IV. choice. - Minor defects - small dots, unevenness and slight grinding marks - are included in this I/IV. choice. - Ivory and other coloured porcelain have small differences in colour.

For a particularly good selection of undecorated porcelain - labelled I/III. choice - must be charged at considerably higher prices. - Ivory and other coloured porcelain have small differences in colour.
