Relief decors

We love relief decors! They are beautiful, can be produced in small runs and quantities and can compete with the much more expensive relief moulds in terms of look and feel. They only have one disadvantage: they are usually more expensive to produce than relief crockery, as they can only be produced by additional decorative firing.

A relief decor is usually a white or colourless decor that is applied to the decal sheet in several layers. Modern direct print transfer machines are now also capable of producing relief decors.

To put it simply: the actual relief is produced as a thick, bold decoration, which is then applied to the white goods. After the decorative firing, the thick decorative layers convey the perception of a relief, both visually and haptically. If these relief decorations are produced using the inglaze process, they are not inferior to relief porcelain in terms of either appearance or durability. They are just generally more expensive.

Unfortunately, very few customers realise that instead of a simple logo (vignette), you can also have a completely customised relief decoration made. We like to use our Harmony mould for this, which is ideally suited to the production of relief decorations thanks to its wide rim. We explain the difference to "real relief porcelain" on our Relief crockery page.
