How much does it cost to make vignette porcelain?

Apart from the price of the porcelain itself (white price), the production of vignettes involves a whole series of cost items that are difficult to calculate as a lump sum.

Volume-independent basic costs

Every customer logo on porcelain must first be ceramically realised as a vignette by a specialised lithographic company. Even existing lithographs for printing tools are not suitable for vignette production. Only the number of vignette colours is relevant to the cost. If the customer does not have a "print-ready template", this must first be created in a previous step.

Volume-dependent production costs

The number of printing colours, the quantity of vignettes to be produced and, above all, the vignette size and positioning play a decisive role in porcelain finishing. As a rule of thumb, we calculate the price of 3,000 vignettes to be around 50% cheaper than 300 pieces.

The size of the porcelain item determines its firing place in the oven. A 30 cm footprint can hold around 15 coffee cups, but only one pizza plate.

This makes it impossible for us to publish vignette prices in a standardised price list and we therefore ask you to send us your specific request.

Estimated over the thumb

For a single-colour vignette - dishwasher-safe or dishwasher-suitable version - in the standard size of 4 x 4 cm for a print run of 1,000 pieces, we calculate approx. € 1.95 plus the price of the porcelain. However, this information is not binding and we prefer to calculate each enquiry individually. For large print runs, the prices for porcelain finishes can be as low as 30 to 70 cents, so it's always worth planning your vignette carefully!
